Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
Korean Flipper ("we") is made by [YOUR NAME OR COMPANY]. This policy covers the Korean Flipper web app, Chrome extension and related services. Questions: [CONTACT EMAIL].
The short version
- Your flashcards, review history and looked-up words are stored in your own Google Drive, in a private folder only Korean Flipper can open. We don't receive them.
- The extension changes pages on your computer. The text of the pages you read is never sent to us or anyone else.
- Our server only stores which plan your account is on. No ads, no selling data.
Google sign-in and Drive
You sign in with Google. We ask for three permissions only:
- Your email address (
openid, email), to identify your account and plan. - Its own app folder in your Google Drive (
drive.appdata). This is a hidden folder that only Korean Flipper can see. We cannot see, open, change or delete any other file in your Drive.
Your cards, reviews, settings and the words you tap while reading are saved as files in that folder. They go directly between your browser and Google; they do not pass through our servers.
Korean Flipper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use this data for advertising, don't sell it, and don't let people read it.
What our server stores
- When you're on a paid plan: your email address, your Google account ID, your plan and when it changed.
- When the app checks your plan, our server asks Google to confirm your sign-in. It keeps that confirmation in memory for up to 10 minutes and doesn't log it.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider ([PAYMENT PROVIDER, e.g. Stripe]); we never see your card number.
The Chrome extension
- It reads the text of pages you visit, on your computer, to swap in Korean words you know. That text is never sent anywhere.
- It keeps your settings, a copy of your known words, and daily counts in your browser's storage.
- Words you tap are saved to your own Drive folder so the flashcard app can show them.
Anki files
When you import an Anki export, the file is read inside your browser. The cards it contains are saved to your Drive folder; the file itself isn't uploaded to us.
Deleting your data
- Cards and reviews: in Google Drive, open Settings → Manage apps → Korean Flipper → Delete hidden app data.
- Access: remove Korean Flipper at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Plan record: email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll delete it within 30 days.
- Extension data: uninstall the extension.
Children
Korean Flipper isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
